Trumpet Paul Tingley is an experienced performer and teacher, having played trumpet for 30 years. As a graduate of Crane School of Music (SUNY Potsdam), he continued his studies with Steve Emery of the Boston Pops, Charles Daval of the Boston Symphony, and Dana Russian of the Springfield Symphony. His performance experience includes concerts with members of the Boston Symphony, Beacon Brass, Cape Cod Symphony, Spirit of America, and Gloriæ Dei Cantores. He has a particular interest in working with young people, and pursues his career as a Private Trumpet Instructor to more than 30 elementary through high school students, as well as directing the youth choir program at the Church of the Transfiguration. He is also Music Editor of Paraclete Press, and lives on Cape Cod with his wife and four daughters.
Favorite Solo Repertoire: Haydn Trumpet Concerto, Hummel Trumpet Concerto, Prayer of St. Gregory (Hovhannes), Handel Suite in D, The Trumpet Shall Sound (Handel), and Copland’s Quiet City.
Tuba player Br. Christopher Swidrak likewise brings a diverse background to his playing. He recently performed the Vaughan Williams Concerto for Bass Tuba in the Church of the Transfiguration and is Brass Director for the Spirit of America Band. He has also accompanied Gloriæ Dei Cantores on many of their American and European tours. As a Religious Brother at the Benedictine Community of Jesus, he also is an accomplished writer and poet and works in the Premedia department of Paraclete Press.
Trombonist James Pfeiffer began playing when he was in 7th grade. Canadian by birth, he received his Master of Music degree at Northwestern University, IL, and continued his studies at Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of John “Doc” Marcellus, and later with Danish trombonist Karsten Vanberg. In addition to performing with the Canadian Brass, Winnipeg Ballet Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic, and Edmonton Symphony, James was a member of the Foothills Brass of Calgary for several years, touring Canada and Israel with more than 500 concerts. As a member of Spirit of America Band, he also plays baritone and contra. James is a Piano Technician and lives on Cape Cod with his wife and two children.
Favorite Solo Repertoire: Sulek, Vox Gabrielli, Bach Cello Suites, Jacques Casterede Sonatine, Lars Erik Larsson Concertino, Rimsky Korsakov Concerto, Handel Sonata in F Minor.
Trumpet Peter McKendree began playing at the age of 12. While studying at the University of Massachusetts, Peter performed and toured with the UMASS Minutemen Marching Band. As the Visual Master of Spirit of American Marching Band, Peter has taught young people at numerous band camps in both music and drill techniques. Peter has had extensive performance experience as the first trumpet player in Vox Caeli Sinfonia Orchestra, and with the choir Gloriæ Dei Cantores both as an instrumentalist and as a singer. His studies have included training from Dana Russian, Steve Emery, Terry Everson of Boston University, Kevin Owen and Tom Gregory. Peter is the manager of a landscape design-build company, and lives on Cape Cod with his wife.

Horn player Br. Joel Sweet is no stranger to brass, having played both trumpet and horn for nearly three decades. His studies include work with Kevin Owen of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, and Steve Emery of the Boston Pops. In addition to playing with Gabriel V, he has performed extensively with the choir Gloriæ Dei Cantores as a singer, and Spirit of American band as a brass player and instructor. He has also played the fife in the Spirit of American Fife and Drum Corps. Br. Joel is a Religious Brother at the Community of Jesus, and serves as Venue Master of the Church of the Transfiguration on Cape Cod.
