"Sister Danielle is both wickedly funny and frightening as Mephistopheles. Her writhing, seductive portrayal as the devil-temptress who entices Faustus to sell his soul, and her Medusa-like hair, are memorable, to say the least."

"The preparation by (the directors) was meticulous; one seldom sees an operatic production as powerful in conception and polished in execution as this "Pilgrim's Progress."
